Critical Rx: Precision in Dilution, Calculation and Infusion

Critical Rx: Precision in Dilution, Calculation & Infusion is a one-day hybrid educational workshop organised by the Malaysian Pharmacists Society Young Pharmacists Chapter (MPS-YPC) under the Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy Focus Group.

The workshop is designed to strengthen pharmacists’ knowledge and practical competencies in critical care medication management, with emphasis on drug dilution, dose calculations, medication compatibility, infusion practices, and the safe preparation and administration of high-alert medications.

Through evidence-based lectures delivered by experienced hospital pharmacists and interactive case discussions, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of medication management in intensive care settings, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and Emergency Department (ED).

This workshop aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice by equipping pharmacists with the confidence and skills required to optimise medication safety, minimise medication errors, and support evidence-based pharmaceutical care for critically ill patients. It also serves as a platform for professional networking and continuous learning among pharmacists with an interest in hospital and clinical pharmacy practice.
