Join us in the Safe Medication Disposal (SMD) Student Ambassador Programme 2025, a dynamic initiative designed to inspire pharmacy students to become advocates for proper medication disposal practices. This programme offers a unique platform to gain valuable knowledge, build advocacy skills, and make a meaningful impact through a national awareness campaign.

📅 Who Can Participate?
Open to all Schools of Pharmacy across the country, this programme provides an opportunity for aspiring pharmacists to engage in an impactful journey while fostering community education.
Programme Highlights
Part 1: Safe Medication Disposal Workshop
Kickstarting the programme is an engaging webinar, “Don’t Throw It, Pass It”, featuring expert-led sessions that:
- Introduce the fundamentals of safe medication disposal (SMD) and local regulations.
- Cultivate essential soft skills for campaign planning and execution.
- Provide practical insights to prepare participants for impactful advocacy.
The workshop concludes with the official launch of the Safe Medication Disposal Awareness Campaign, including a comprehensive briefing for student ambassadors.
Part 2: Safe Medication Disposal Awareness Campaign Competition
Empowered by the workshop, participating student bodies are encouraged to organize their own SMD Awareness Campaigns over a three-month period.
Stand a chance to win:
1st Prize: RM1000
2nd Prize: RM800
3rd Prize: RM500
Objective:
Educate target audiences about safe medication disposal while fostering innovative, impactful initiatives among pharmacy students.

Campaign Ideas:
– Host SMD talks or street interviews.

– Integrate campaigns with public health initiatives or university events.
MPS-YPC, in collaboration with the Malaysian Pharmacists Society Special Interest Group (MPS SIG) and the Malaysian Pharmacy Students’ Association (MyPSA), will provide support to ensure the success and reach of these campaigns.
