Malaysian Innovative Healthcare Symposium (MIHS) 2020 Webinar
The emergence and rapid rise of COVID-19 cases has caused an unprecedented impact to the economies worldwide, including the healthcare sector. As the crisis hits countries around the globe, the consumers’ behaviour changes wherein people are turning to online services and retail ecommerce, thereby driving local healthcare systems to adapt and reshape to these new demand patterns and preparing for sustainable changes by using digital solutions. Hence, with the theme ‘Virtual Pharmacy as the Way Forward’, MIHS 2020 was proud to present a webinar as a side initiative to bring pharmacists’ attention to explore their roles and the potential of such opportunities in this digital era.
The webinar was conducted on the 11th April 2020 in two separate sessions. Our first speaker, Dr Raymond Choi from Doc2Us touched on the revolution of pharmacy in his topic ‘Shifting towards Pharmacy Revolution 4.0 – Telehealth’. For the second session, Ms Jennifer Tan who is a health coacher from Naluri shared about the role of pharmacists on online health services in her presentation titled as ‘Pharmacists as Virtual Health Coaches’.
This webinar was proven to resonate with a lot of pharmacists as it attracted participants from all ranges of fields such as hospital, community, industry, regulatory, academic, and even the students. In view of such success, the MIHS 2020 organising committee is more committed than ever to build a stronger, more in-depth, and interactive content for our upcoming annual event which will kick off in October this year.
